By using our web site and Knibbs/associates Sourcing People’s (Kn/a) services — www.sourcingpeople.ca and sending us any personal information, you are deemed to have read and accepted this Privacy Policy.

Privacy Statement

Kn/a respects the privacy of our customers, candidates, and suppliers.  The policy is developed in accordance with federal and provincial legislation.  Please review the following information.

Data

The personal details we collect from your profile/application includes, but is not limited to, information such as email address, name, telephone number, education, employment history, skills, as well as your resume.  We may, while trying to secure employment opportunities for you, contact references provided by you.

If you are selected for an interview, additional information may be collected.  Some of this information may be sensitive information but will be related to requirements of the job.

Your information will be retained until you request your information be withdrawn or through Kn/a’s periodic purging of data.

The data collected is from you, your references, or other sources related to recruitment and/or employment activities.  Since this information is provided by you and credible other sources, it is assumed the information provided is correct.

In some circumstances, Kn/a will contract a third party to perform a background check on a selected short-listed candidate.  All candidates requiring background checks are made aware of this request and must give their personal authorization before we will proceed.  Listing references on a resume or submitting them separately is considered authorization.  You may deny this request; however, such a denial may result in your removal from the competition.

Sharing Information

Your details will not be disclosed to any person, body or organization for any purpose other than the primary purpose of us holding your information, that being the securing of employment for you.  This may include other organizations who may be recruiting for positions for which you are suited.

The information may also be used in aggregate for statistical reports, for contacting candidates for evaluation or for follow-up, research or promotional purposes.

For the purpose of securing employment for you, your information will be shared with prospective employers or other recruiting agencies. Once your information has been shared, your information is now subject to the holding organization’s privacy policy.    Kn/a does not take responsibility for the prospective employer or fellow recruiting agency.

Withdrawing information

If you do not wish to have your information shared with other organizations, please advise us through email.  If at any time during the recruitment process you wish to withdraw, you may opt to withdraw your information as well.  You are responsible for informing us of this decision.

Accessing Information

You may review your personal information by contacting us by email.

Security

Kn/a secures your personal information.  The information may be stored on electronic files or manual copy.  Only those involved in the recruitment process will have access to the information.

Third party site links may be included on Kn/a’s website.  These sites are not subject to Kn/a’s Privacy Policy and Kn/a is not responsible for their operation or content.
